Originally from the DC area, Debbie moved to Charleston in 1998 to attend Johnson & Wales University where she received her degree in Culinary Arts. She met her husband Andy Sophomore year and they were married in 2002. In 2007 their son Alex was born and just 4 years later he was diagnosed with Autism. After spending 20 years in the Hospitality Industry in 2014 she enrolled in real estate school, obtained her real estate license and began working for a local builder. A few months later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. There were many surgeries and chemotherapy treatments that followed until the summer of 2016 when she finally won her battle with cancer. Debbie moved on to work for another builder that had communities in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and all over Florida. After becoming the top sales agent for that builder in Charleston she wanted to continue to grow in her real estate journey so in 2018 she joined the fastest growing real estate firm in the country, Realty One Group Coastal. With Realty One Group Coastal she has learned so much more than she could have ever expected and made some wonderful relationships with other Realtors, attorneys, contractors, inspectors, as well as her clients and their families. In 2022 while helping some clients who lost everything in a fire, she fell in love with furniture refinishing and started her company Second Life Furniture Co. In her spare time Debbie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, traveling, cooking, and restoring/refinishing furniture.
